Life Drawing

If you found this post before 8am this morning you would have read something much different, but I decided it was just a bunch of "sad bastard music" so I nixed it. Let's just say I've been a bit overwhelmed by the amount of talent out there in the face of my own weaknesses and struggles to get to a place artistically that I'm more satisfied with.

very nice, i'm a big fan of the "strokes all going the same direction look"

but yeah the values are nice, especially the last three for me are the best

relax dude, I know what you feel, I feel it too. U gotta look at your own stuf from last year and think of how fast youre improving. Another thing is that you never see other people's "less-than-successful" stuff but youre looking at your own bad work all the time cause of course youre only fully satisfied with about 10% of your own stuff so most often youre thinking of your own mistakes and so its not really an objective comparison. I like the drawings but I'm not a fan of the "going in the same direction" look. But I like the drawings : )

Looks nice and casual; not labored over. Well done, bud.

I can completely relate Grant. I find that art is a double edged sword for me. I can't live without it but at the same time I find it one of the most stressfull things I've ever done. I know where I want to be but just never seem to be there. Rest assured though that most of us out there wish we could drwaw like you!!!

These are great . I know what you mean about looking out on the field of talent and wondering where everything is going . Here's the thing - most artists think the same way about their own talent and work .

Grant, these are very fine. Found you through a Google blog-search using the term "life drawing," since I'm about to dip my rusty hand back into that activity and it helps me orient by looking at others' work.

Don't fret -- yes, the world is chock-full of brilliant talent, goodness knows I'm intimidated and over-awed by what I see -- but you are the only one who can tell your particular "story."

Skill comes with time and practice (or so I hope). But heart and desire are something else.

You seem like you've got both.
